59th Annual General Clinton Canoe Regatta – May 28-31

Posted

The Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce will present an abbreviated Regatta this year due the NYS COVID restrictions that were in place at the time of planning.

Due to the absence of a place to start due to the restrictions, much of the regatta has been cancelled for this year. However, the organization was able to salvage part of the weekend including a Virtual 70 Mile race, where paddlers can get a 70 mile finish if they complete the coarse from Cooperstown to Bainbridge. Entrants must pre-register and present proof of the completion of the entire coarse.

The Generation Gap races will be held Friday, May 28, starting in Sidney. All entries must be online and be received online by May 27 at www.canoeregatta.org. Saturday, May 29, the scout races will also be held. Those who still wish to enter please contact Eileen Tallmadge at 607-639-2476. The scout races start on the Unadilla river at 1 p.m.

Also on Saturday, May 29, the Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce will present a free concert and fireworks for the community. Local favorites from Bainbridge, Woodshed Prophets will take the Bandshell Stage at 6:30 p.m. and continue until 9:30 p.m. At 9:30, a huge firework display will take place produced by American Fireworks. We would like to thank our generous sponsors that enable this free concert and fireworks.

Visit Bainbridge Saturday morning for all the vendors on Main street during the day and then grab a chair and come to General Clinton Park for some power twang and enjoy the amazingfireworks. Any questions feel free to contact John Harmon at 607-237-6008 or at jharmon80@outlook.com.
