The seventh annual Beard Buster Turkey contest sponsored by the East Meredith Fish and Game Club May 4 and 5, was well attended with 91 entries. Approximately $2,500 was raised at the event and will benefit three local people who are battling cancer. A portion of the proceeds will be used for scholarships for students continuing their higher education in the outdoors or going into the trade industry, and to support the annual kids fishing derby to be held July 27.
