Delaware County Historical Association Announces Reopening Plans

Posted
The Delaware County Historical Association, located on Route 10 in Delhi, has announced its reopening plans as part of the Phase 4 of the New York State reopening plans.

Historic buildings - DCHA will tentatively re-open to the public on Friday, June 26. On that day we will once again welcome visitors to tour our historic buildings. Our re-opening is dependent on the Southern Tier region of NY entering Phase Four of the state's re-opening schedule. Please, always wear a mask!

Exhibits and giftshop - On the same day we will also allow sales from our extensive collections of books and other items - although physical access to the store will be regulated by staff until it becomes safe to allow shoppers to browse our shelves. Access to our exhibit spaces will be restricted until further notice. Please, always wear a mask!

Research library - Our research library will tentatively re-open on Tuesday, June 30. We will begin with only partial access to the research area on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week. Researchers will be required to contact us before their planned trip here. You may call 607-746-3849, or email dcha@delhi.net to let us know of your plans. Until further notice researchers who arrive here without having made an appointment, will be refused entry. We ask that if you are not feeling well, you cancel your visit. Please, always wear a mask! Click here for further information on rules concerning use of the library/archives at this time.

DCHA will reserve the right to deny access to the museum, gift shop and library if there is any cause for concern for the safety and well-being of our staff.

Whatever your reason for wishing to visit us, we welcome you back! Our staff would love nothing more than to resume normal operations. However, at the present time, that just doesn't seem prudent. So, please wear a mask - and practice those common-sense social distancing habits we have all been forced to learn over the last three months.

Please don't hesitate to contact us with questions or concerns. Due to the uncertain nature of the current situation, we would also recommend that you contact us before visiting to make sure our re-opening plans as outlined above are still in place.
DCHA events are canceled until further notice.
